Meet The Team

Student Council 2026-27

Year 08

Adam G

Hello everyone! My name is Adam, I am from Egypt, Greece and the UK. This is my second year at Discovery College and my experience of being welcomed last year is why I ran for student council. I am very excited to be one of the year 8 student council representatives this year. Having been a student at Discovery College for a year, I care very much about student voice and making sure everyone is heard and supported. My primary goal is to ensure that your feedback and suggestions are turned into actions that help create an inclusive school community. If you have any ideas please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Year 08

Luk S

Hey everyone! I’m Luk Suardi, and I’m so excited to be on this year’s Student Council. My main mission is to make sure Discovery College is a place where we all feel supported and respected. I really want to help everyone’s voices reach our teachers, so I’m planning to set up easy ways for you to share your thoughts, like digital suggestion boxes and quick updates in a regular newsletter. I’m also pushing for some awesome changes to our school, especially better seating in the shared areas and some proper quiet spots for studying. I truly believe that by listening to your ideas, we can make DC even better together. Let’s make sure every student feels like they belong here!

Year 09

Jasper L

Hi there, Jasper here!
It is an absolute honor to represent our school as a Year 9 Student Council member. In the past, I have signed up for a couple of leadership roles, big and small. This not only gave me incredible opportunities but also further convinced me to continue participating in leadership roles, not for the title, but to ensure that this school is a place where everybody feels supported, included, and proud to be here. Throughout this academic year, I strive not just to work and participate effectively with my council peers, but to help build a school environment where we don't just focus on classes but genuinely look forward to coming into school every single day.

Year 09

Frederick L

Hi, I’m Frederick, and I’m excited to serve on the Student Council this year. Growing up in Discovery Bay, I’ve always cared about our environment, and one of my main goals is to help make DC a more eco‑friendly place. I’d like to focus especially on how we use electricity around campus, finding small but effective ways to reduce waste and encourage smarter energy habits. Another idea I want to bring forward is keeping the cafeteria open after CCAs in the afternoon, since most finish around 4:30pm and students often need a quick bite or drink before heading home. I believe these changes can make school life healthier, greener, and more supportive for everyone.

Year 10

Aashmi J

Hi everyone! My name is Aashmi, and I am thrilled to be a Year 10 Student Council member this year. I joined DC in Year 6, and I have always enjoyed helping others and getting involved in school life. I am excited to work with the team to turn your ideas into action and help create an even more positive, welcoming and engaging school experience for everyone through activities and events. As a student council member, I aim to listen to your suggestions, represent your voices, and help make our school community even better! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or suggestions. Let's make this year awesome!

Year 10

Derya K

Hi everyone! My name is Derya and I am excited to be one of the year 10 student councils this year. I joined DC in year 4, and since then I have always been interested in leadership roles and opportunities and I’ve always liked helping others or improving the community so I'm really looking forward to this year as a student council, to help the community and help your ideas come to life! As student council this year, I would like to listen to your ideas, and work together with everyone to give us all a better school experience. I also really value positivity so I'm committed to creating a positive environment and creating different kinds of school events! If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to reach out to me!

Year 11

Selene N

Hi everyone! My name is Selene, and I am honoured to be part of the student council team as a Year 11 representative. I am so grateful to have such an amazing opportunity to represent the voices of my fellow students. My goal this year is to work collaboratively with the team to create an even more positive environment where students can grow. I am passionate about encouraging active participation in school events from all students (even staff!), and I strongly believe that with the student council team this year, we can most certainly create a place where everyone's voice can make a difference. I'm looking forward to working together with all of you this year to organise new events and address your concerns that will benefit our school community. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any suggestions, questions, or just want to talk. Let's make this a fantastic new year!

Year 11

Ushnik R

Hello everyone, I'm Ushnik, one of the Year 11 representatives. I’m honoured to have this role and the opportunity to represent the student voice. I have been part of the Discovery College community since Year 7 and took part in various leadership roles. Through the Student Council, I hope to make meaningful changes and make this year memorable. I'm excited to meet new peers through this role, broaden my leadership skills and have the chance to make a difference. I look forward to working with the other members of the student council, and trying my best to make a positive environment for activities and learning.

Year 12

Arsh S

Hello everyone, my name is Arsh and I am currently in Year 12. I have been part of the DC community for 4 years, and I am honored to be part of the Student Council Committee this year. Outside of school, I enjoy playing football and have also been involved in numerous internal and external leadership roles. These experiences have helped me become much more confident in communicating and collaborating with others. As a part of the committee, I aim to make meaningful changes and have a positive impact on the school community. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns, and I’m looking forward to a great year ahead.

Year 12

Verabella T

Hello there, I'm Verabella! I'm in Year 12, and have been proud to call myself a DC student since Year 1. Ever since primary, I have been applying for leadership roles in our school community, eager to help our school community thrive even more, and to be a role model to others. I am a prominent member in our school's theatre community, through participation and my roles as a Theatre Captain and Theatre Scholarship student. I love to support and represent my house through our annual House Dance and Battle of the Bands! My goals for the Student Council committee are to listen and understand my peer's needs, and to do everything in my power to fulfill and address them.

Year 13

Alexander NL

What's up everybody?! As a student of DC since Year 1, I am honoured to say that I am Discovery College's Year 13 student council representative. As part of this role, I aim to bring crucial change to our school based on student voice. Therefore, I look forward to having both formal and informal discussions with all members of our community to identify what can be improved and improved upon. As this is my 6th year as a representative, I am looking forward to working harder and achieving more highly than I have ever done in previous years.

Year 13

Although I am from Russia and China, I have lived in Hong Kong since the age of 5, and joined Discovery College in Y3. I look forward to working with the other student council members to promote student voice in school decisions. I hope that in the upcoming year we can make a positive change and create an environment where all students can flourish.
