Year 11

Joowon S
Hello, my name is Joowon and it is both an honor and privilege to introduce myself as one of the Year 11 Student Council Representatives of this academic year. This is my second time being on the student council, and I am looking forwards to working with the other student council members to create and foster a more flourishing, positive and overall greater community here at DC. My main pursuit for this academic year is to serve as a representative who amplifies students’ voices, visions, and concerns about the school, and to follow through in bringing these initiatives to reality. Year 9

Aaron K
Hello everyone! My name is Aaron and I am so excited and honoured to be representing Year 10 as student council! During my time here I am really looking forward to working hard, fostering new connections and exploring more of the leadership side of DC! I've been here since Year 4, and building relationships, working hard are both CRUCIAL factors in DC. I look forward to being a voice for students and working closely with ambassadors in order to make DC a place where we can relax! No worries with people, no hate. Just positivity. Nadia S
Hello everyone! My name is Nadia and I am honoured to return as one of the Y12 student council representatives! Although I am from Russia and China, I have lived in Hong Kong since the age of 5, and joined Discovery College in Y3. I look forward to working with the other student council members to promote student voice in school decisions. I hope that in the upcoming year we can make a positive change and create an environment where all students can flourish. Hi everyone! My name is Benji, and I am really excited to be one of the Year 8 Student Council representatives this year. I have been in DC since Year 1, so I feel that I know the school well and can help by bringing positive ideas from my year group and contributing in the growth of our school. I hope that I will be able to prove to my year group that I am responsible and open to any ideas that they will give me and I will try my best to help them become real. I would like to support the DC community as best as I can and I will welcome any positive ideas about changes to our school. Hi everyone! My name is Emma and I am one of the Year 8 student Council members this year. This is my first time being in the Student Council and I am really looking forward to being able to help you get your ideas heard! I joined DC in Year 6 and I thought Student Council would be a great way to help our school. I really like working with other people, even though it might take me a little while to get to know them. I am always willing to talk about how to help our school be the best it can be for both students and staff. I am open-minded and willing to listen to your ideas and making sure that everyone is heard is key to helping our school.

Hello everyone! My name is Arthur, and I am feeling both excited and privileged to be a student council representative for Year 9. Having joined DC recently at the beginning of Year 8, I am looking forward to meeting many more members of the school community and representing my peers. I hope to work in partnership with my fellow student council members to bring tangible change based on the students' voice. I want to support bringing DC closer together as an inclusive community and will be listening and working hard to bring about positive change.

Hi everyone! My name is Derya and I am excited to be one of the year 9 student councils this year. I joined DC in year 4, and since then I have always been interested in leadership roles and opportunities and I’ve always liked helping others or improving the community so I'm really looking forward to this year as a student council, to help the community and help your ideas come to life! As student council this year, I would like to listen to your ideas, and work together with everyone to give us all a better school experience. I also really value positivity so I'm committed to creating a positive environment and creating different kinds of school events! Hi everyone! My name is Lindsey, and I am so excited and grateful to be returning to the student council for Y11! I've been in DC since Y1, and have been part of the student council since Y9, and have seen how this school, and it's students, has grown and changed over the years. I have nothing but love for our school and the community we have built together. I'm looking forward to working with my fellow student council members to improve DC into the best version for all of you! Student voice and agency is extremely important to making your experience the best it can be. I encourage, and am always open to any discussions and questions!

Hi everyone! My name is Selene, and I am honoured to be part of the student council team as a Year 10 representative. I am so grateful to have such an amazing opportunity to represent the voices of my fellow students. My goal this year is to work collaboratively with the team to create an even more positive environment where students can grow. I am passionate about encouraging active participation in school events from all students (even staff!), and I strongly believe that with the student council team this year, we can most certainly create a place where everyone's voice can make a difference. What's up everybody?! As a student of DC since Year 1, I am honoured to say that I am Discovery College's Year 12 student council representative. As part of this role, I aim to bring crucial change to our school based on student voice. Therefore, I look forward to having both formal and informal discussions with all members of our community to identify what can be improved and improved upon. As this is my 5th year as a representative, I am looking forward to working harder and achieving more highly than I have ever done in previous years.

Hi all! My name is Hannah, and I'm excited to be a student council representative for the third year running. I've been in DC since primary school, and I believe that I have developed a profound connection with Discovery College. I am extremely passionate about finding new ways to improve the school, with student voices of all ages working together to help us make our school a positive and special experience for all. Student voice is crucial in ensuring that DC is catered for students, and I hope to emphasise this throughout my final years in DC.

Hey everyone! My name is Mark Koung and I have been a part of the Discovery College community for about 13 years now. Throughout my time here, I've grown to appreciate the way in which this environment truly allows each and every student to grow, discover and dream as a learner. In my final year at Discovery College, I hope to take my 3 years of experience to channel student voice into actionable change once more, leaving behind long-term change that supports student voice even after I leave.
