No Boundaries.
Welcome to the No Boundaries Programme, a week-long experiential learning continuum, designed for students in Years 3-12. No Boundaries plays a key role in engaging students in learning experiences that broaden their horizons and challenge them to take principled action within their local and global communities. The programme is also a vehicle for developing student leaders, awareness of self and others, as well as exposing students to local and global issues through which different perspectives can be developed.
Philosophy of Discovery College’s No Boundaries program:
-
Longstanding aspect of College life
-
Focus on ‘Community Engagement’ that creates impact as well as cultural immersion to enhance diversity and inclusion awareness. We aim to minimise physical skills or recreational activities in our program
-
Makes use of Education Outside The Classroom (EOTC), accessing forms of
learning that cannot be replicated easily in the campus environment
-
The Year 3 - 12 continuum is designed to create opportunities for students to develop themselves and to serve others/communities (student agency and action-taking)
The learning experiences included in the No Boundaries programme are carefully curated to challenge students in various ways and encourage them to develop new skills and perspectives. It is designed to allow students to step out of their comfort zones and explore new horizons. During the No Boundaries week, students will engage intellectually, creatively, emotionally, socially, and physically through various activities. Students will have the opportunity to engage in team-building exercises, outdoor activities, creative projects, and more.
The No Boundaries Programme aims to foster personal growth and develop essential life skills such as communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Furthermore, the programme encourages students to take an active role in their learning and to become lifelong learners.
