Overview
This week offers students a unique opportunity to learn, apply, and take action in conserving the environment. They will explore the impact of human activities on Hong Kong's wetlands and marine biodiversity while building resilience in an immersive Forest School setting.
In the first half, students will investigate the effects of large-scale development projects on wetlands through group discussions and an urban planning exercise. They will also study marine biodiversity, observing plankton and coral from a glass-bottomed boat and performing scientific measurements.
The second half features an exciting three-day, two-night experience at Forest Impact. Students will camp in tents, learning skills like setup and takedown under trained guidance. Activities include fire building, carpentry, and stick bread making, as well as learning about harvesting, cooking, and composting. They will navigate the Mui Wo Maze, completing eco-themed challenges with local organizations and exploring the Silvermine Waterfall. This week is all about inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards!
