Year 5
Luk Suardi
Hello, my name is Luk. I'm of Italian and Taiwanese descent but born and raised in Hong Kong. I have always wanted to be part of the Student Council since year 1 because I want to take part in making our school a better place. I like to help my fellow classmates. I enjoy hanging out with my friends in my spare time and also doing sports such as tennis and gymnastics.
Year 5
Raphael McLeay
My name is Raph Mcleay. I was born in Melbourne, Australia. I moved to Hong Kong when I was 2 years old and have been living here for more than 6 years. Right now I am in Year 5. One of my hobbies is playing sports. My favourite sports are football and basketball. I also really like to read and create stories.
My family and I really like to travel. Some of the places we have been to are Italy, Spain, Greece, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Japan. My favourite place was Italy because of the food and architecture. I’m very happy to be a Student Council member because I can help to make our school Grow, Discover, and Dream.
Year 6
Wenyu Song
Hello everyone, my name is Wenyu Song and I am in Year 6. I am from China and have many hobbies outside of school. I enjoy reading in my spare time to increase my knowledge, but also I just find it fun to read. Everyone, as an individual, has the right to be respected for their views. I am very grateful to be elected as a student council representative and I believe that one person can not achieve and accomplish amazing things, but together, as a community, we can!
Year 6
Ariya Ahuja
Hi! My name is Ariya Ahuja. I have been in Discovery College since year one. Currently I'm in year six and it is an honour to be in the student council. I am ten years old and half British and half Indian. I love doing taekwondo and participating in Discovery College activities. I hope the student council will make some improvements to Discovery College as we learn and grow as a community.
Year 6
Daphne Wong
Hi, my name is Daphne Wong and I am in Year 6. I have been in DC for 3 years and I was chosen to be a Student Council Representative for 2023-2024. My hobbies are swimming,skiing and archery. In 2022, I participated in under 9 cross country and the running relay on Sports Day. As a Student Council member, I will try to answer any questions you have. I know that everyone’s thoughts and voice are very important, so feel free to share your ideas with the Student Council Representatives. I can’t wait to guide you guys throughout the year.
Year 6
Jaslyn Dhillion
Greetings! My name is Jaslyn and I have been in Discovery College since Year 4. I am half British and half Indian, though I was born in Hong Kong. I am 10 years old and I am proud to be a Year 6 Student Council Representative for 2023-2024. As a Student Council member, I hope that I can make some positive changes to DC. I have strengthened my leadership and teamwork skills, and I hope that I can encourage more student feedback. I hope that we will all Grow, Discover, and Dream.
Year 7
Kairav SINGH
Hello everyone! My name is Kairav Singh, and I am extremely honoured to be your Year 7 Student Council Representative for the 2023-2024 school year at Discovery College. Although I was born and raised in Hong Kong, I am originally from Chandigarh, India. Having been a part of DC since Year 2, I have a great understanding of areas where we can improve as a school. In my free time, I enjoy playing badminton, practising martial arts, rock skipping, and spending quality time with family and friends. I have been in other types of leadership roles before, such as being the Green House Captain in Year 6. If you ever need help with anything related to school or otherwise, just feel free to talk to me about it. I am always open to your ideas and suggestions on how we can make our school a better place for everyone.
Year 7
Amelia Lloyd
Hi, my name is Amelia. I have been in DC since I was in year one. I am very happy about being a Y7 student council representative. I enjoy doing all sorts of things like playing tennis, drawing, and acting. I also really enjoy baking. I always try to be the best that I can be and to be kind and respectful to my friends and others.
Year 8
Akshath Salwan
Hello everyone! My name is Akshath Salwan, and I am a year 8 student. I am thrilled to be nominated as one of the year 8 student council representatives. Ethnically Indian, I was born in the United States and raised in Discovery Bay, which makes me familiar with the area. This is my first year as a Discovery College student and a Student Council member. Some things I like to do in my spare time include playing football, playing music, and spending time with my family and friends. My goal as a Student Council member is to make students feel included. I would also like to carry out changes to improve the school for the better of the students and staff. In the past, I have taken on many different leadership roles and would like to extend my leadership skills to the Discovery College community. Year 8
Jun Umibe
Hello, my name is Jun and I'm very honoured to be chosen as Y8 Student Council Representative. I am half Japanese and Korean but have spent most of my life in Hong Kong and joined Discovery Collage in Y4. Activities that I generally enjoy are Brazilian Jiu jitsu and just spending time with my family and friends. As a student council member I believe that student voice reaching out to others is very important and I would like to help all the students feel heard, which I believe can definitely create positive changes within the community/school. I haven't had any major leadership roles however I am excellent at communicating efficiently with others through ideas as well as listening to their ideas. I am always open to feedback in order to create more agency for students as well as student driven projects.
Year 9
Lindsey Cha
Hello everyone, I’m Lindsey. I’m honoured to be one of the Student Council representatives of Y9. I am 13 years old and from Korea, but I have been raised in Hong Kong. I have been in DC since Y1, and I’ve seen lots of changes and improvements made to the school and have come to understand it well. I enjoy playing guitar, reading, and listening to music. I am always open to conversations and look forward to helping DC be the best for you!

Joowon Song
Hello. My name is Joowon Song from year 9. I am excited to be chosen as one of the student council representatives. I am from South Korea, but I have spent most of my life in Hong Kong. I have been in this school since year 6, therefore have a great understanding of Discovery College. My goal as a representative of the DC student council is to be able to present and voice the ideas of my peers and classmates in year 9.
Year 10
Nathan Chan
Hello everyone! I am Nathan. I was born in Hong Kong, but my parents are from Taiwan and Korea. For the second year running I am proud to be a student council representative, this time for year 10. I am 14 years old and have been in DC since year 1, therefore I have a profound connection with the school. If you see me, I will likely be playing sports, but I am always free to talk anytime. I am looking forward to continuing as a Student Council representative and hope that you all can provide your opinions and suggestions to help improve our school for the better.

Lucia Gimenez-Reyna Castillo
Hello, I’m Lucia and I am happy to be one of the Year 10 Student Council representatives. I am originally from Spain, but have lived in Hong Kong since I was three, and joined DC in Year 4. Some things that I enjoy doing include, playing netball, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. My goal as Student Council representative is to help all students to feel heard, and initiate positive change within the school. I have had a few leadership roles in the past, but I am excited to extend that further and develop leadership skills whilst helping the Discovery College Community. Alexander Nolens-Liu
Hello everyone! I am Alexander and although I am from Belgium and China, I’ve been raised in Hong Kong for my whole life. For the third year, I am proud to be a student council representative, this time for year 10. Currently, I am 14 years old and have been in DC since year 1, therefore I best understand the school as a whole. If you ever see me I am probably playing football or studying, but feel free to talk anytime. I am thoroughly looking forward to continuing as Student Council and hope that you all can provide valuable suggestions for the positive change you want to see in our community.

Hannah Bolton
Hi! My name is Hannah Bolton, and I am excited to be a year 11 student council representative. I've been in DC since year 5, and have a profound and deep connection with Discovery Collage. I am extremely passionate about finding new ways to improve the school with student voices of all ages working together to help us make Discovery College a positive and special experience for all.
Year 11
Mark Koung
My name is Mark Koung, and I am absolutely thrilled to be one of the Year 11 Student Council representatives. I am from Hong Kong and have been in DC since Year 1, so I have plenty of experience when it comes to this school. One of my main focuses for this role is to advocate for student voice and feedback. This is because my role as a student council member is to represent the voices of all students within the year, ensuring that each individual can have an influence on the entire school community. I hope to work towards making Discovery College an even more positive and supportive environment.

Isla Han
Hello! My name is Isla Han and I am very happy to be one of the Year 12 student council representatives! I am very passionate about improving Discovery College and have loved seeing our school grow over the past 12 years I have been here. As student council I hope to work together collaboratively with staff members and students to make sure all are being valued as well as to build a vibrant and supportive school community for everyone. Axel Dimblad
Hello! My name is Axel and I am one of the year 12 student council representatives this year. I was born in Norway but I have been at Discovery College for 7 years. This year will be my second year running for student council and I hope to bring my knowledge gained from last year into the 2023-2024 school year. My goal as a member of the student council is to act as a voice for my peers and ensure that they feel as if they play an influential part in change at our school. I hope for this upcoming year I can continue to bring all of your opinions forward in order to make this school the best it can be. Year 13
Rea Kim
Hey everyone! I’m Rea, and I am honoured to be one of the Y13 Student Council representatives, returning for my fourth and final year. Student voice is of the highest importance to me, and I hope to have that reflected in the Council’s efforts towards ensuring experiences that better cater to students at Discovery College; I look forward to working with the other members to make this happen. We welcome student feedback in order to create more student-driven initiatives and projects for students, from students. Hope to see you all around DC, and feel free to stop me to discuss anything.

Adrien Nolen-Liu
Hi everyone! I’m honoured to have been elected as one of my cohort’s Student Council representatives for the second year running. As a council, we hope to ensure that student voice is emphasised as a crucial step in making school-wide decisions. We want all students to feel as influential as possible, requiring the student body to speak their mind when change is desired.
