Overview

For Sustainability Week, students will engage with a selected Hong Kong based NGO to learn on recycling and conservation initiatives and its impact to the hospitality community.

With almost 50 million visitor arrivals and 87% hotel occupancy in 2025, Hong Kong hospitality industry is one of the vital economic pillars.

In Sustainability Week, students will work with Soap Cycling and Green Hospitality to learn and have hands-on experience in upcycling, recycling, and management of used resources and waste in hospitality industry.

Students will learn to recycle and upcycle used soapcake or soap liquid through Soap Arts making or soap re-bottling activities as well as engage with the community in a local neighbourhood to promote community hygiene.

With Green Hospitality, students will learn and integrate their knowledge in climate education, food waste reduction, and hospitality sustainability practices. The programme will include a guided tour of a partner hotel or F&B site where student can see food waste management practice in real setting, understand food waste, audit analysis and impact calculations, and Climate Fresk Workshop. Students will then create Food Waste Reduction Campaign for our school using creative medium.
