To help students manage their day effectively and lighten their daily bag weight, students at Discovery College are allocated their own locker.

Primary (Years 1–4): Students are provided open-faced lockers located in shared learning spaces.

Primary (Years 5–6) & Secondary: Students are provided lockers with doors.

Priority Allocation and Pastoral Care

At the start of each academic year, Secondary Year 7 and 8 students receive priority locker allocation. This places their lockers close to their Learning Team rooms, supporting our pastoral care programme as students learn to organise their personal belongings and adjust to secondary school routines.

Locker Security & Recommended Locks

Students are responsible for all personal items brought to school and must place all belongings inside their locker. To ensure maximum security, students with door lockers are expected to provide a sturdy lock.

We strongly recommend choosing a high-quality lock with a thick shackle (the U-shaped top loop) measuring 6–8mm in diameter (such as an American Master Lock). Locks with thinner shackles allow the latch to be rotated open even while locked, whereas a thicker shackle prevents this.
