Secondary Textbooks
Parents can purchase subject/course textbooks directly from the bookstore or online supplier of their preference. It is crucial that students obtain their textbooks prior to the commencement of the school year as it will aid in their academic progress and provide them with the necessary support required for effective learning.

Students going into Year 7
There is no Mathematics textbook for Year 7.
There is no Science textbook for Year 7.
Students taking Spanish for Year 7 will need to buy the listed textbook.
Students taking Chinese Language and Literature do not need to buy a textbook.
Students taking Chinese Language Acquisition need to buy the correct level of textbook (and workbook if required), depending on which phase they are in.
Parents of students currently in Year 6 will receive a separate communication stating which Chinese textbook should be purchased for each student. Please look out for the individual email and contact your child’s Chinese teacher for any follow-up related to this.
Students going into Year 8
There is no Mathematics textbook for Year 8.
There is no Science textbook for Year 8.
Students taking Spanish for Year 8 will need to buy the listed textbook.
Students taking Chinese Language and Literature do not need to buy a textbook.

Students taking Standard Maths need to purchase the new textbook indicated (Mathematics Core Topics SL).
Students taking Extended Maths need to purchase the new textbook indicated (Mathematics Core Topics HL).

There is no Science textbook for Year 11.
Students taking Spanish for Year 11 will need to buy the listed textbook.

Students going into Year 12
Students need to buy all the books for the subjects and levels (Higher or Standard) that they have chosen to study. All students and parents are aware of what subject choices have been made.

Spanish Ab Initio Language Acquisition students are asked to purchase the textbook indicated in the linked spreadsheet.
The purchase of books for English will be organised through the English department when texts have been decided upon. The choice of texts will depend on the interests and needs of each class.
Students taking Economics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Environmental Systems and Societies will use the online Kognity resource.
For students taking Business Management, the purchase of Kognity for this subject is optional.
Kognity fees and payment information will be shared in the new year. For your reference, we anticipate the following price points (subject to change):
One subject - approximately $720 for one subject per year.
Two or more subjects - $1290 per year, which provides full access to Kognity.
Optional full access - $1290 - See subject list
Students taking Economics will also need to purchase the Quantitative Skills Workbook.
Students taking Computer Science will need to purchase a textbook.
Theatre students are invited to purchase the optional textbook listed.

Students going into Year 13
Books used in Year 12 will continue to be used in Year 13.

New students starting in August 2026
It may not be possible to place new students in the correct level for Chinese until they arrive at the school.
If unsure what books to buy, it is better to wait until August before ordering.
