About the event
Positive Discipline is a parenting program designed to teach young people to become responsible, respectful, and resourceful members of their communities. Based on the best-selling Positive Discipline parenting books by Dr. Jane Nelsen, the program teaches important social and life skills in a manner that is deeply respectful and encouraging for both children and adults. Parenting with Positive Discipline means kind and firm at the same time, which is effective long-term and helps children feel a connection - a sense of belonging and significance.
For more information, please watch the following video about The Five Criteria for Positive Discipline with Parenting Expert Dr. Jane Nelsen.
Following our Positive Discipline Parenting Course we have created a shorter version that will complement what we provided to parents but targeting domestic workers supporting primary aged children. This workshop is designed to support domestic workers to learn the underlying motivations of children’s behaviour and some of the best practices for responding to that behaviour. They will learn new discipline tools to build your child’s self-esteem, self-discipline, problem solving, and essential life skills that will last.
