About the event
For Year 13 parents: As students are preparing for their next important life chapter to life beyond DC, find out what happens on results day and how the HEO will advocate for and support them as their university places are finalized. Learn about the topics we have covered to help them prepare for the next stage, including cultural adjustment, campus safety, living on a budget, academic environment, student visas all of which can be explained in our ‘Life after DC Survival Guide’.
For Year 12 parents: As students transition into their final year of high school, the HE journey is at its most intense. Learn about the various application timelines and deadlines, gain an insight into how students can develop an application that stands out, and the different ways applications will be evaluated depending on the country they are applying to, and the important role of parent support.
For Year 11 parents : With Personal Project completed and work experience looming, students should be well prepared by the time they start Year 12. Gain a valuable insight into the importance of research and what is involved, the value of participating in extra curricula and super curricula activities, what are classified as competitive courses and majors, the role of admissions tests and how applications will be evaluated.
Primarily for parents of students in Years 11-13, but all parents are welcome.
