Overview
Taiwan is home to 16 officially recognised indigenous tribes, many of whom have inhabited the island since 3000 BCE and possess their own unique language, customs, and social structure.
In this trip, students will have immersion in the life of Jinlun Village (金崙部落) which is historically home to the Paiwan (排灣族), Taiwan’s second-largest indigenous group. They will facilitate an educational enrichment programme for local youth, experience harvesting crops, and engage in workshop on sustainable development, local agriculture, and have some fun in learning Paiwan language and songs. Furthermore, the students will have the opportunity in service learning at the Jinlun Village Elderly Care Center.
